World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Survival Hunter DPS spec Priority/Rotation, talents glyph and much more. (Patch 4.0.3a, 4.03a, 4.0.6, 4.06)
Hello youtubers, this is MmoGlog.
Today I come to you guys with my Hunter survival spec Guide.
Before we get into the priority lets talk about the hunter talents.
These are my talents on my survival spec hunter. Some Things to clearify in my talents are Entrapment, Serpent Spread, sic' em, and One with nature.
I have 2 out of 2 in entrapment What entrapment does is that it roots the target that triggered the trap, and the surrounding enemies for 4 seconds. Because it has a rooting ability it's really useful in such fights as Magmaw when you need to slow the worms down.
I have 1 out of 2 in Serpent Spread because with the new fixes, it now only effects 4 targets out of the total amount of targets being attacked by multi-shot. Multi-shot can easly be used again before 6 seconds DoT timer ends, so there is no need to have it last up to 9 seconds.
I have 1 out of 2 in Sic' em. Sic'em reduces the cost of the pet's 50% or 100% when you critically hit with one of your special abilitiies. This talent for your pet and in Survival spec, you are doing most of the damage while the pet is just there to give you and the raid buffs.
I took the 2 last talent points and used it on One with Nature. One with Nature increases the attackpower bonus of Aspect of the Hawk by 20%. Must I need to explain more?
Glyphs are: Explosive shot, Kill Shot, and Serpent sting.
Major glyphs, and minor are your choosing. For me I chose the glyphs with best survivability
Priority:
1: Explosive Shot
2: Black Arrow
3: Serpent Sting
4: Arcane Shot
5: Cobra Shot.
The key to this fight is saving your focus and keeping Explosive shot on cooldown. Save your Lock and Load proc for only explosive shot. Don't just spam explosive shot when you get a Lock and Load proc, use it once, let the Explosive shot duration fall off, then use explosive shot again. If Explosive shot is down use Black arrow. If Explosive shot and Black Arrow are both on cooldown, and your target does not have serpent sting,then apply Serpent Sting. If Explosive shot is on cooldown, Black Arrow is on cooldown, and serpent Sting is on the target, then use Arcane shot, if you have more than 50 focus, and explosive shot is at 3+ seconds on it's cooldown, then use arcane shot.
Use Cobra Shot to refresh Serpent sting, gain focus.
